The Tokyo Olympics took place this weekend and Sha’Carri Richardson took her spot in the race after being suspended from the league for 30 days following her failed Marijuana drug test.
Fans of Richardson were expecting the runner to come back stronger than ever after all their massive support during her suspension. However, The Track Star failed to deliver a winning spot in the race due to the impressive performance put on by team Jamaica.
During the women’s 100-meter dash at the Tokyo Olympics this weekend, the ladies of Jamaica easily dominated the competition. This win for team Jamaica left Richardson in dead last. Shocked by the end results, Fans and celebrities couldn’t wait to chime in on the action.
Atlanta Black Star reported that Elaine Thompson-Herah took home the gold with a time of 10.61 seconds, breaking the late Florence Griffith Joyner’s previous Olympics record set at the Seoul Games in 1988, shaving off one-hundredth of a second.
Nicki Minaj was one of many celebrities to chime in on Richardson’s lost by posting her admiration for team Jamaica in the past that threw shade at Sha’Carri after the news was released about her failure to pass her drug test.
Apparently, Nicki Minaj was watching the Tokyo Olympics this past weekend and Hollywood Unlocked caught the “Anaconda” rapper throwing more indirect shade at Sha’Carri Richardson.
Although this lost came as a surprise, Richardson was excited about being back on the track and happy to be back doing what she loves.
Richardson acknowledged her fellow athletes by sending off a congratulatory post on Twitter Saturday night, writing, “Congratulations to the ladies of Jamaica for the clean sweep. Powerful, strong black women dominating the sport.”
